How would your campus look in 3D?You showed us.The competition has ended. Congratulations to the following 3 teams who are the winners of the Build Your Campus in 3D Competition! We'll see you in Sydney!
Judges' Statement"We were delighted to be a part of the Google SketchUp competition in Australia and New Zealand. We were happy to see the high-quality work and end product in both Google SketchUp and Google Earth. It was clear to us all the hard work and dedication from the teams and individuals in developing these models, and during a time that may have conflicted with other university commitments. To the finalists: We applaud your interpretation and use of modeling best practices in each of your submissions. The technical skills were truly impressive, with an appropriate level of detail and efficiency through clever modeling techniques, as well as, great use of textures and photographs. We hope that others will get to see and be inspired by all of your great work. Congratulations!" Here are some great SketchUp model examples from Brisbane to inspire you...
The U.S. & Canada 3D Campus Competition wraps upWe also just finished a SketchUp Competition in the U.S. and Canada, so check out some of the winning models here and get ready for some friendly, cross-Pacific rivalry. Here's what the judges had to say about all of the great work: "Last week, we had the opportunity to watch college campus environments come alive with SketchUp and Google Earth. We couldn't help but be impressed with the effort put forth by the many teams and individuals who participated. The selection of finalists was the result of a lively discussion and a careful model review; ultimately, the top teams' entries bubbled to the top." "To the finalists: In the coming weeks, as these campus models are added to Google Earth's 3D Buildings layer, we hope that people will see them, learn from your creativity and appreciate the time, effort and pride you put into your submissions. We're sure that your work will be extraordinarily useful in college recruiting efforts and campus planning activities, and we look forward to seeing what else you will do with your new found SketchUp and Google Earth skills. You've set a very high standard and hopefully inspired those that will follow you."
